Skills for Excellence
Skills for Excellence
Author: Luis S. R. Vas
Luis Vas’s "Skills for Excellence" initially appears to be yet another book in an unending list of motivational books. Yet it does look like another MBA aspirant’s book.
The manner in which the author has handled this subject, it can well be called the Dummy’s Book of Going Through Everybody’s Life. He has systematically explained each concept methodically, with the aid of subheads, and even graphs. While going through the book, what actually strikes you are the last few chapters that talk about how to tackle studies and school. These chapters induce you to keep on reading till the end. The author explained a simple thing like learning a chapter just as my teacher in school had taught me a long time ago. Read on and the best part is the simple exercises given to the readers to follow everyday. Again, these are so simple even an average person can follow.
"Skills for Excellence" is a valuable book that can help inspire confidence to face the challenges of everyday world.

Solve Your Problems - The Birbal Way
Solve Your Problems-The Birbal Way
Authors: Luis S. R. Vas; Anita Vas
Tire of cramming? Looking for fun? Want to hone your creativity?
In our childhood, we knew Birbal as the sharp, witty and intelligent minister of Emperor Akbar. We read his stories, enjoyed them thoroughly, and then forgot them. We probably never thought his sagacity and problem-solving acumen could one day help us manage many of our own problems at home or at the office.
The 200-page book contains 85 small but engrossing tales “to spark your creative thinking”. A paragraph or two on management morals, safe and applicable, follows the stories.
Today it has become trendy to identify different management principles with historical and mythical personalities such as Attila the Hun, Winnie the Pooh, Mulla Nasiruddin, and Confucius, and with philosophies like Bhagawad Gita, Sufism Zen, Taoism, and the Bible. Against this backdrop, the authors unveil the problem-solving principles that Birbal’s stories portray.
If readers pause just before the solution is given and think of their own solution to the problem, they would be surely be honing their own creativity.

Publisher; Unicorn Books
This book is a collection of 47 humorous, thought-provoking, relaxing, inspiring musings worth forwarding/ emailing.
Not readily found the second time.Ideal for bedtime reading for all age groups
A must read for the stressed out, fast-paced souls to help unwind.
Miscommunication...
Memo from CEO to Manager:
Today at 11 o’clock there will be a
total eclipse of the sun. This is when
the sun disappears behind the moon for
2 minutes. As this is something that
cannot be seen every day, time will be
allowed for employees to view the eclipse
in the parking lot. Staff should meet in
the lot at ten to eleven, when I will
deliver a short speech introducing the
eclipse, and giving some background
information. Safety goggles will be made
available at a small cost.
Memo from Manager to Department Head:
Today at ten to eleven, all staff should
meet in the car park. This will be
followed by a total eclipse of the sun,
which will appear for 2 minutes. For a
moderate cost, they will be made safe
with goggles. The CEO will deliver a
short speech beforehand to give us all
some information. This is not something
that can be seen everyday.
Memo from the Department Head to Floor
Manager:
The CEO will today deliver a speech to
make the sun disappear for 2 minutes in
the form of an eclipse. This is something
that cannot be seen everyday so staff
will meet in the car park at ten or
eleven. This will be safe, if you pay a
moderate cost.
Memo from Floor Manager to Supervisor:
Ten or eleven staff are to go to the car
park, where the CEO will eclipse the sun
for 2 minutes. This does not happen
everyday. It will be safe, and as usual
it will cost you.
Memo from Supervisor to Staff:
Some staff will go to the car park today
to see the CEO disappear. It is a pity
this doesn’t happen everyday.

Read it once, read it the second time, and then...Forward to all your friends.
